ALE, Anna-Lena Engelhardt, is an artistic freelance editor based in Berlin. 
She is editing fiction, documentary and experimental video art.

Montage has a powerful potential to break through familiar patterns of perception and thoughts to open up new perspectives. 
It can not only be an artistic and narrativ-dramaturgical, but also a strong political instrument.
In her editing it is important to her not to force the rhythm, the narration and emotions, but to feel and filter it out of every single fragment.
Currently her montage is focusing on themes of subtlety, brittleness, stillness & emptiness, decoding political staging 
and the connection between poetry and montage. ALE thinks editing is poerty.
